New Year's Eve with Legend Live!

Mr Kyps Live Music venue is located in Poole, Dorset, UK. We are a dedicated live music venue, NOT a pub. Regarded by many touring bands as one of the best 350 capacity venues in the country, we provide excellent sound, great views of the bands from all parts of the venue, very reasonably priced drinks and a particularly friendly atmosphere.

Gig listing are updated daily. However if you are traveling any distance, please contact the club before leaving to minimise the chance of a wasted trip. Unfortunately, Mr Kyps Ltd accepts no liability for any losses incurred under any circumstances.

Dreadzone almost here... This Friday at the Opera House
Dreadzone almost here... This Friday at the Opera House
An eclectic fusion of dub, reggae, techno, trance, and folk, they headlined last year's Larmer Tree festival and this year's Endorse It and Boscombe Festivals.

John Peel championed Dreadzone on BBC Radio 1, and cited Second Light as one of his favorite albums of all time. Tracks from Second Light also dominated Peel's Festive Fifty in 1995, and the band recorded six Peel Sessions between 1993 and 2001. They are an impressive band with a massive sound and this will be an amazing gig in rare intimate surroundings.

Update on the building work!!
Update on the building work!!
Okay so we lied about the frequencey of these updates... we've been busy choosing new curtains and lampshades don't ya know?!

Work has been going on apace at Mr Kyps Folks, and here is the latest evidence to suggest all the guys at Cam Building will be ensuring we'll be opening on schedule - FRIDAY 28th NOVEMBER!

Here's the view from the stage at the moment.... as you can see the walls have been plaster-boarded, meaning they'll be flush and flat, and provide a great surface for our colour changing lighting throughout:

More scenes of general mayhem:

And here's the new ceiling... as you can see it's going in at about 4ft above the original height, meaning better lighting and acoustics through the room, and better views of the stage which was previously obscured by the low ceiling... the height of the old one can be seen where the red paint ends...

What's happening now is that the ceiling will have all the new lighting incorporated into it, with colour changing dynamic lighting on the sides, and the main trussing for the stage lighting now being overhead.

More to follow as things develop...!
